Red Hat, together with its partner Tritux, organized a seminar on what service-oriented architecture (SOA) means for information systems.
Red Hat is the world’s leading provider of open source enterprise solutions, known for its operating system, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and for its cloud, virtualization, storage and SOA solutions and its JBoss Enterprise Middleware portfolio. It came to Tunisia to present its SOA solutions at a seminar organized jointly with its Tunisian partner, Tritux.
The goal of the seminar was to show the benefits of service-oriented architecture in an enterprise setting, where integrating information systems is a daily problem. In just a few years, SOA has become a major topic for enterprise information systems. More than a new technology or method, it is the convergence of several approaches towards a single goal: more agile enterprise information systems.
The hardest part is getting Tunisian business owners and CIOs to change their mindset and embrace a company-wide project to improve performance. For information systems to become a real asset in a company’s strategy, their operating principles have to be rebuilt, and then their role, even their mission, within the organization has to be defined. The first point that comes to mind is Tritux’s firm belief that improving productivity requires a good understanding of the company’s current and future environment, and that it necessarily depends on an information system able to track performance indicators in real time and to identify where things can be improved.
